Have you heard the words: “THIS NEEDS TO BE NOTARIZED” and asked what does that mean exactly? Well, it can have several meanings which is why when we first talk on the phone, we take some time to make sure we know what is required and get it right for you. You may need one of the following services:
1. The Notary makes a TRUE copy of your Original and certifies it for your (like your ID).
2. The Notary certifies that this is your signature on a signature line - which means the Notary has met with you, reviewed your ID, and confirmed that it is really you signing.
3. The Notary witnesses your signature as a Commissioner of Affidavits – which means you swear or affirm that it is all true and you sign in front of the Notary.
4. Sometimes they just send you off and tell you to “get this notarized” which sounds very fancy and they don’t tell you much more than that. In some cases, I can give you the pointed questions to ask and have you call them and get things sorted out so it is all done correctly for you.
5. We talk on the phone first – no extra charge at some Notaries charge by the minute – to be clear what your needs are and best way to assist you.
6. There is no APP or account created and no personal information stored.
We meet live and you physically sign in what we call WET INK.
7. There are no encrypted signatures, audit logs, or digital footprints made or kept. Your ID is valuable and should only be shared online in very rare and highly secure instances.
8. The notarization is accepted across Canada and around the world.
9. I also provide my contact information with your documents so the other party can call me (as they sometimes do) to confirm that I notarized for you.
